Twilight Obsession

Today, and yesterday for that matter, you may have noticed I was quite uptight and impatient. Or that my nose was stuck in a book. Usually, I try to prevent from reading at school, but I seriously couldn't tear myself away from the 1st in the twilight quadrology. Which I read in 2 days, broken up time slots. Congrats to me =] Hopefully Jade will realise that she has a text message and will bring the next one tomorrow.

Also, emily if you're reading this you should already have your assignment sheet in your inbox. if not, text me or something and i'll do it straight away.

Much love,

Amanda

Chewed Shoes and Busted Door Stops

That's right, you've got it. My dog got inside today and decided that it would be fun to eat one of my shoes. and my door stop. So now it slams shut whenever I turn on my fan and open my windows. Hurray.

Today was the first day back, obviously, and over the weekend I went camping with Josie, which was fun. We drove up on Friday morning, I got very sun burnt setting up, and Suzanne didn't help at all. stupid lazy person. Josie and I washed and dried up everyday day. Making that at least 9 times before we left.It rained on Saturday. We drove on Sunday. We drove a bit on Sunday. We packed up, I got sun burnt, we came home. the end.

Turns out we're going camping again. Just after Christmas and just before America. leaves me a lot of time to pack, doesn't it.

I actually don't have much more to say. My heads is empty, and I'm off to do something secret.

ttyl.

Caravans and 100km Winds

Alright, you've guessed the topic. We're possibly going away at the weekend. yay (sarcasm present). It's not like I hate it all that much. I'd rather stay at home or go to a nice hotel up the coast of Queensland. And what if I haven't finished my homework in 2 days? I mean, hello we won't get back til Sunday night, I have school the next day and just a few days to get it all done. I'm not complaining, I'm just making a point.

The fates must have been in my favour last night, because the annex roof of the caravan was out in those horrible winds, and they broke 4 of the poles, and bent on of them. I know its mean to be happy about this, and deep down I'm not, because that was only finished on Saturday. It was Monday when it broke. That's a couple thousand dollars down the drain.

Anyway, enough of the tragic unhappiness, I had a great time in Queensland. I actually meant to post a blog earlier and write about it in detail, but I'll do it now. So we left home at 7:30am on Sunday and drove to the airport, boarded the plane blah blah blah. When we got to La Sabbia (where my cousins live) we helped get ready for the party and sat around until the guests arrived. The guests arrived and I spent about 6 hours more in my high heel shoes.

After the party we cleaned up and headed inside for dinner. The end of that day.

On Monday we went shopping. It was amazingly fun. Although Suzanne was having issues to find anything that would fit her. Including swimmers, so she pretty much had a hissy fit in the shop. I had a great time finding swimmers. I found a few more than 8 pairs to try on (i know, but my cousins helped find me good colours) and I somehow managed to get that down to three. I actually wanted to buy 2 pairs, but decided against it when I looked at the price tag. I got a beautiful halter neck tube bikini, in bold colours. It's so comfortable. Now I just need a place to wear it! I also bought 2 pairs of pj's, a pair of white denim 3/4 pants (only 1/4 away from the white skinny's I want!) and I think that's it. Needless to say, after shopping at Dreamworld the day after, I came home with 15c. Out of $200. At least, you can say, I didn't spend it all. =] When we got home my cousin and Nikki and I painted our nails (i'd only done mine on Saturday but already they were chipping). I painted mine a really deep purple called Linkin After Dark, or something similar.

On Tuesday, you guessed it, we went to dreamworld. first, though, we had a game of tennis. which was fun. We drove there and got in the line to get in, which took us an hour, then lined up for the claw straight away. Oh, my god!! I had to sit by myself cause people couldn't be bothered to fill in the seats. Anyway, I was secretly freaking out before that one. My sister tried to convince the 3 of us about 4 times that she'd rather wait outside. And she's supposed to be the brave one. Anyway, so you start swinging on this claw shaped thing, and then you start spinning around slowly, then after you gain momentum, you just get flung up in the air, spinning as you go. I was seriously shitting myself. Well, I wasn't, but I did scream myself hoarse. I even tried closing my eyes, but that made it worse. lol.

Next, we went on the wipeout, and after lining up for a while we were the first one's on. Again, I was scared a bit, but Suzanne was practically hysterical. I think she nearly cried. Anyway, apart from being a thrill ride, I actually wasn't scared at all. I mean once or twice I felt like I was going to fall out of the damn ride, but I didn't, and I actually enjoyed it more so than I thought I would. It's really just like this big wave. You're sitting on one side of this triangular prism type thing and then the arms move you around like a wave coming into the shore and then drifting out (as in lifting you up, then taking you around in a circle). then as the ride goes on, the arms start doing weird things and you're not horizontal anymore, and it kinda moves you like you're legs do when you're riding your bike. lol. Then right at the end, it takes you upside down, and leaves you there for a while, then leaves you on top of the ride for a while. then slowly brings you done. lol.

After that, we decided to line up for the cyclone. would you believe we waited for a bit longer than an hour before getting on? yep. we did. anyway, so we got on, and this one again wasn't that scary, but after the hour wait I was getting jittery. Anyway, we got on, and the roller coaster took us around the side fairly slowly, then up this really high ramp, which is pretty nerve racking cause it takes so long. then when you get up the top, you're sure you're going to drop, but you don't. Anyway there's a few loop-de-loops and stuff. but it's all good. I liked it, but not worth the wait.

After that, we were starving so we got lunch then headed over to the Thunder River Rapids Ride. Compared to all the other rides, this was like a walk in the park. It was actually really boring. the best part was probably going up the ramp slowly at the end, being jolted from side to side by the ramp. lol

After wasting another hour lining up for that, we headed over to the tower of terror, now I just want to clear this up this is the ride that shoots you out of the tunnel, and then up as far as 38 storeys. Not the giant drop. anyway, we spent 1 hour lining up for this ride, then they had a delay cause of some problem, which was routine seeings as it's propelled by magnetic force. Anyway, we managed to get on, and sat in the car thing, and to be honest I was a bit freaked out, but never said anything, cause I wanted show up Suzanne. which I did. anyway, the car thing jolted forward, and then we were off at 160km in just 7 seconds. pretty amazing really, again I screamed going along, then when we started going up you run out of breath and can't be bothered screaming. Then, you just sit still, about 38 storeys high, in the car, before you remember 'shit, this thing goes down as well'. in the middle of thinking that, the car starts zooming backwards to where you came from. I think that was the best part.

On Wednesday, it was our last day so we had breakfast and started to say our goodbyes, cause both of my cousins re going to the UK for 10 weeks. then the youngest is coming back to Sydney to work. anyway, we all shed tears. It was really very sad. Needless to say, my mascara was all on the tissue by the time we got to the airport.

Sucked In

So. She didn't win. She came second. Serves her right for being so confident. It's just wrong to be that confident. What annoyed me though, was that she walked through the fron door, didn't even wait for me to close the door, and coughed (suggestively) you know, to ask what hapened. And mum stared at me weirdly as well. I hadn't even shut the door and they wanted me to jump up and down and act like I give a shit. Well, i kinda do, but not that much that I'm going to jump up and down. Anyway, I complied and asked how she went, and she said. Wait, wait, wait, and then just threw the stupid flier in my face.

Anyway, I'm not actually going to rant about anything else today, because I have nothing to rant about. I'm going to emphasize that tomorrow is the official beginning of the official countdown until america. So, i'm fairly excited about that. Check out my blog tomorrow, and then another of my blogs which will be residing here as well, which will be named something like 'america countdown'.

Last day of school! 2 days until I fly out to the Goldcoast, then I'm back here after 4 days. to do nothing. and to start my geography assignment. Should be awesome (note: sarcasm).

Here's 5 pickup lines, only ever heard on the radio:
1. Baby, I must say your aura is incredible
2. I want to lock you up in my closet when no one else is around
3. You mine and so fine and thick as can be
4. You hot like a toaster
5. Girl, lets go to the slums where killers get hung. When gunshots ring out, just run quickly. As long as you're with me, you'll be alright.

So, not your typical pickup lines, but hey, they may be the dividing line between friendship and . . .well, you know. lol.

Alright, so I'm doing a lot of listing tonight, but what the hell:

Do You Not Hear Me? (Day 103)

So, when you wake up in the morning, do you awake to see your mothers head hovering inches from your own? Well, this morning, I did. Funnily enough, I went straight back to sleep, after assuring her that I was awake and I'd get up in a minute. More like 30. Then, after I'd done my hair, dressed and checked myself over, 15 minutes had passed. I was running 40 minutes late, with just enough time to swallow a small muffin, make my lunch and jump in my dad's ltd, which is orange for those of you who are interested, 5 minutes early so he could pick up a parcel. Hello? I think driving me to the bus stop is much more important.

You know, lately I've been feeling very resentful towards my mum. All she can talk about is my sister's tennis competition. How the organiser was rude to her. I swear, that's all she even thinks of. It's driving me insane. And no, its not because I envy my sister's tennis abilities. Not at all, cause I'm the only one who can ever give her a run for her money, that's if its not raining, otherwise I can't see to serve, and I get cold. And I worry about my hair getting ruined, but surely everyone does that?

Something I'm not ranting about, more like announcing, is that after dancing this morning, I was happy. Because one of my fellow dancers told me I actually looked really good dancing. I felt like I had 2 left feet. Which I of course, don't. And usually during dancing I am able to feel normal, but I feel like I'm dancing with someone else arms, legs and chest. So someone else's everything, apart from stunning looks and brains, which are mine, and mine alone.

But wait, we're back to ranting. My mum picked me up from the bus this afternoon right. And usually, she's already there, waiting for me. When she's not, I walk about 100m in the opposite direction so she can just pull up, and I'll get in. So i walked that 100m this afternoon, because she was running late. Or my bus was early. The next thing I see, she turned into where the bus stop is. So I had to run all the way back and get in the car, complaining of twisting my ankle, and then hitting my head the door of the car. And then hitting my arm on the door of the car also. I was in agony. Then, I tell mum about my science test. She doesn't even ask how I did, instead informs me that my sister had a maths test today. And she forgot. So mum had to drive back home after buying another geometrical kit and give it to her. Stupid her. Anyway, so I was thoroughly pissed off about my comment being brushed aside when she asks me whether I had homework. Which I didn't. And I told her so. Then when we got home, after tutoring she asks me again. And she tells me she forgot. Which is unbelievable, cause I'd told her like 4 times apart from the one mentioned above.

So, it's exactly 10 months and 20 days until I can drive. Congrats to me.

Day 104. A.K.A 2 Years, 10 Months and 3 Weeks . . .

Alright. So I was sitting in Geography this afternoon, and Miss Rogers hands Jenny the sheets to hand out. Fine by me. I asked Jenny sweetly (with a beautiful smile) if i could have one. And you know what she does? Gives me one last! I mean, if that's not against all common courtesy and respect.

Another problem I had with respect today was during recess we were indoors right, you know, wet weather? Yeah, well first i get tripped over by a measly year 8 chick, then Tory sticks out his foot and trips me again. As if I already don't have enough trouble walking.

Okay, so that's a lie, contrary to popular beliefs, my 3 inch heels are perfectly easy to walk in. And I'm being serious.

Oh, and I swear, my sister is such a cow (don't tell her i said that)! Everything I make in food tech is perfect right, if not better, and she won't eat it because it might be, wait for this, because it might be 'poisoned'. What the hell, like I'd be able to smuggle in poison in my school bag and into the food i cook. And hello, I eat it, and sometimes mum does as well. So today when I brought home my fabulous Blow-Away Sponge Cake she takes one look at it and goes 'ooh, is that cream?' Now that really pissed me off, because she didn't have enough respect, or common sense to not say that. And it wasn't as if I didn't already have the shits with her. I mean when you have to carry your bag, folder, cake and another bag home on the bus you deal with it, right? If you have TRAMPOLINING STRAIGHT AFTER SCHOOL you don't ask to get picked up, when you know your sister (being less fortunate) has further to travel with more stuff. So my cake was ruined by the time I got home. Anyway, so I told her what I thought of her wanting cream, and she doesn't listen, and eats it anyway. So then i soaked it in water =]. Serves her right.

Wow, who knew someone could rattle on for that long about a sponge cake. That actually makes me feel quite bad, making you sit there and read all about my dilemmas with a cake. Oh well.

So, it's day 104. Nearly day 103. yes, that's right. nearly 103 days until i hop on a plane and skedaddle out of here for 20 days.

And, as I informed by mother via text message this morning, it is 2 years, 10 months and 3 weeks until I turn 18. And we all know what that means - drinking, driving and clubbing. Though, not all at once.

Which also means that in exactly 10 months and 3 weeks, I'll be 16. Which means I'll be able to drive. As my mother once said, god help us all.
